Join Brandon Shields, Austin Evans, and Allison Rhea as we help you effectively live into the unique calling and purpose that God has placed on your life. You will walk away from this class with the tools and resources to define your unique purpose and calling into a single “purpose statement" and practical strategies for aligning your life rhythms with that purpose.

Recovery Workshop: Portraits of a Family

When: Saturday, February 24 | 9-11:30a
Where: Soma Midtown | 2815 E 62nd St

Our adult narrative began with our families’ backgrounds and legacies. This framed a picture of who we are and what the world is through our family roles, rules and relationships. But it may not be the right story - the story of our lives as God sees it. Maturing means both understanding and owning how our families have shaped us, and letting God reshape us with his grace, his truth, and his movement in our lives.

During this workshop we will:

  • Acknowledge our family background without having that define your life
  • How to rework personal and family dynamics to bring about godly movement and grace
  • Understand the way that we are able bring a new expression of God’s truth into our daily lives

Childcare will be available for this.

Justice 101

Sunday, January 14 | 1-2:30p

As Christians, we want to pursue biblical justice; but how do we go about it wisely? How do we build life-giving relationships with people in need? How do we help people without making them feel inferior?

Justice 101 is designed to offer a biblical perspective on poverty and share practical tools for walking in relationship with the materially poor. Phil will cover topics such as: Where do I direct a poor person when they approach me for help? How do I serve a poor person with dignity? How do I engage the materially poor in meaningful relationships?

The registration form will let you pick days and times that generally do or don't work well for you; once registration is closed, we'll make the groups and let everyone know their schedule!

ArtSpeak BANNER-2.jpg

Thursday, January 12 | 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Rabble Coffee, 2119 East 10th Street

ArtSpeak in its simplest form, is about rethinking beauty and its purpose. Creativity reflects the deep human desire for transcendence. We want to hear how artists in different mediums chase after it.

Each month, we bring in a different artist to talk about their craft. Whether it be music, paintings or writing, we want to give people a platform to talk about what they do and what inspires them. At the end of the day, we want to create a common-interest space where people can have honest conversations with one another about beauty. We want people to stop and think twice about beautiful things; to consider what creativity really means.

These monthly events are hosted downtown at Rabble Coffee.

Contact Trevor at trevor@somaindy.com if you have any questions or comments in the meantime.

Hope to see you there!
